What is recorded here
Shanid Lower lost its fairy fort to the plough, erasing the circular enclosure marked on the 1923 map. The steep southeast-facing slope now holds only vague dips in the pasture, hiding the boundary of the vanished ring. What looked like a magical stronghold on paper became ordinary farm land, proving that even ancient walls surrender to human ambition.
In pasture, on steep SE-facing slope. Monument, depicted as circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1923 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. Numerous dips occur in field but no clear surface trace evident of enclosure.
