Fairy fort in Shanid Lower is an oval earthen ringfort perched on the north edge of a sheer ravine, its bank rising nearly three metres on the outside before dropping into a scarped ledge above the fall. The southeast-facing slope and steep southern edge suggest people chose the place for view, drainage and defensible depth rather than flat convenience. Vegetación and old field boundaries have softened the interior, but the bank and scarp still outline a small enclosed life suspended between field and void.

On SE-facing slope, on N edge of sheer fall into ravine. Oval area (26.5m N-S; c. 30m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank SW->SE and defined by scarped edge SE->SW. Bank (int. H 0.9m; ext. H 2.9m), best preserved along NE arc, lowers at SW (ext. H 1.2m). Scarp (H 2.35m; Wth 3.3m) drops to natural ledge (Wth 3.1m) above top of ravine S->WSW. Field boundary skirts around base of scarp (3.75m outside it) W->NNW. Interior, heavily masked by vegetation overgrowth, slopes down to S.
