What is recorded here

Scalpnagown in County Clare holds a circular earthen ringfort, yet local memory still calls it a fairy fort. The clay may have surrounded a human home, but the name suggests people once believed the circle belonged to invisible neighbours. That is the charm of the place: a ordinary defensive shape became large enough to hide entire worlds inside its rim.
