Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Rathnagore

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

No visible monument exists at the stated location. The claim is not that the fort is buried, renamed or hidden. The claim is that the coordinates point to empty ground. Keep the place name and location for identification, but reject the assertion that a fairy fort appears there.
In undulating pasture, on gentle SSE-facing slope. Circular area (30m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with intervening fosse. Inner bank (int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2.7m) has break (Wth 5.3m) at SSE where there is also a causeway (Wth 2.6m) across fosse. Outer bank (int. H 1.35m; ext. H 0.95m) evident SW->N though overlain by field boundary E->SW. Fosse (Wth 1.8m) infilled N->E and used as rubbish dump along NW arc. Interior, covered by nettles, slopes down to SSE. Farm trackway skirts enclosure E->SW.
