What is recorded here

Fairy fort in Rathfilode: earthen ring, thirty metres across, breaks to north and east-southeast, interior slightly lower than the pasture around it. People may have lived there, or excluded others, or marked a boundary the land still remembers. The gap in the bank invites entry, yet the dropped centre holds back, as if the circle swallowed light or breath.

In pasture, below crest of ridge, on E-facing slope. Circular area (30.6m N-S; 29.4m E-W) defined by earthen bank (int. H 1.5m; ext. H 1.1m). Breaks in bank to N and ESE. Interior appears to be lower than surrounding field. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
