Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Raheensheara (clandonagh By., Ballybrophy Ed) preserves a subcircular enclosure thirty-one metres wide, marked by a low bank and an eastern gap that may have been its entrance. People once shaped that land into a boundary, perhaps for a home, a shrine or a seasonal gathering place. The fairies entered later, as they do everywhere humans stopped naming the rooms.

Situated in gently undulating countryside. A subcircular area (diam. c. 31m E-W, 32.2m SSE-NNW) defined by a low bank (Wth c. 1.2m, ext. H c. 0.3m, int. H c. 0.2m). No visible trace of fosse. Gap at E may be original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Laois' (Dublin Stationery Office, 1995) compiled by P.
