Fairy fort in Pollnamal, County Galway, is a vanished ringfort on a south-facing grassland slope, marked only by a slight kink in a field boundary and a steep-sided fosse curving from west through north to north-northeast. It may have been a small dwelling, a boundary marker, or a place where people believed the fairies kept their own fort. The land has taken back most of the shape, leaving behind a line in the earth and a name that refuses to disappear.
