Fairy fort in Pallasbeg, County Limerick: a sub-oval earthen ringfort, 17.5m by 15.2m, with a scarped edge, external fosse and counter-scarp bank, sitting in poorly drained gently undulating pasture. The name suggests people once believed the shape belonged to fairy work rather than human hands. The measured banks and ditch leave less room for mystery, yet the flat damp field still holds the idea that small places can carry old claims.

Situated in poorly drained gently undulating pasture. Identified from an aerial photographs (Bruff Survey: Map 15, no 15; 4/3731) as a possible enclosure. The monument consists of a sub-oval area (17.5m E-W; 15.2m N-S) defined by a scarped edge (Wth 2.9-3.8m; H 0.5-0.9m) with an external fosse (Wth 1.4-2.9m) and a counter-scarp earthen bank (ext. H 0.1-0.4m; Wth 1.1-1.5m; int. H 0.2-0.3m). The external bank is more pronounced in the N. The interior slopes down from N to S.
