Fairy fort in Mullagh, County Limerick: a 20-metre earthen ring on an east-facing limestone slope, its double banks and narrow ditch still marking the boundary between pasture and memory. A lime kiln later bit into the northeast bank, proving the site remained useful long after its first shape was forgotten. The fairies may have danced inside, but people kept returning to take, build and change what they found.

In pasture, on E-facing slope, in area of outcropping limestone. Circular area (19.2m N-S; 20.6m E-W) enclosed by two concentric earthen banks with intervening fosse (Wth 2m). Inner bank (int. H 0.65m; ext. H 0.5m), best preserved at ESE (ext. H 1.3m), has lime kiln (LI019-03702-) built against outer face at NE. Outer bank (ext. H 0.25m), best preserved NW->NNE, has been levelled E->SW. Fosse (D 0.5m) has been widened and deepened at NE to accommodate kiln. A dry-stone field wall runs tangentially to inner bank at S. Interior, under pasture, rises up gently towards centre.
