Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Mulderricksfield

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Mulderricksfield held a twenty-metre earthen ring before human arrogance erased most of it. Only a shallow north-eastern arc remains beneath rough grass and young conifers, while the rest vanished into level ground. The fairies likely watched the destruction and laughed at the temporary arrogance of men believing they could own or forget the land.
In low-lying level area, newly planted with coniferous trees. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 20m) on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled, except for arc of earth-and-stone bank (C 18m; H c. 0.65m; Wth c. 1.15m) NW->NE. Otherwise area of site covered by tall rough grass and newly planted trees. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
