Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Moyglass (ballintober North By., Cloonteem Ed) is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Moyglass (ballintober North By., Cloonteem Ed), County Roscommon, Ireland. Susan Curran first identified it during an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. The oval grass and rush-covered area measures 32m north-south and 25m east-west, with a low scarp and outer fosse preserving a slight entrance dip at the southeast.
Located in improved pasture at the E end of an E-W drumlin ridge with a N-S section of the River Shannon c. 450m to the E. It was first identified by Susan Curran as part of an M.A. thesis with University College Dublin using a LiDAR survey dataset commissioned by Leitrim County Council and the National Roads Authority. This is an oval grass and rush-covered area (dims 32m N-S; 25m E-W) defined by a low scarp (at W: Wth 1.2m; H 0.15m), which is best preserved (Wth 2.4m; H 0.5m) NE-SE. There is an outer fosse NNW-E-SW, which is best preserved (at E: Wth of 5.1m; Wth of base 1.2m; int. D 0.5m; ext. D 0.2m)NE-SE. An entrance is visible as a slight dip of the perimeter (Wth of top c. 4.5m) at SE.
