What is recorded here

Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed, often abandoned when roads or fields took their land. In Mountshannon West, a rath still stands beside the village, its earth bank a quiet reminder that people lived here before maps or memory. The fairies are a later story, likely born when the true owners disappeared and the empty fort seemed to belong elsewhere.
