Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Mote Demesne is a fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Mote Demesne, County Roscommon, Ireland. It occupies a flat, low-lying landscape within a coniferous forest. A wide earthen bank surrounds a circular area, separated by a rounded fosse from a thinner outer bank. An eastern entrance cuts through both banks and connects to a causeway.
On a flat, low-lying landscape. Circular area (diam. 32.6m NNE-SSW; 31.8m WNW-ESE) within a coniferous forest defined by an earthen bank (Wth 6.1-7.3m; int. H 0.75-0.9m; ext. H 1.9m) separated by a rounded fosse (Wth of top 5.8-7m; Wth of base 1.7-2.1m; D 1-1.1m) from an outer bank (Wth 3.2-3.9m; H 0.25-0.4m). The entrance through the inner (Wth 1.8m) and outer (Wth 1.2m) banks and the causeway (Wth 2.4m) are at E (max. ext. dim. 50.4m WNW-ESE).
