Mornane holds a broken ring where limestone teeth pierce the pasture, revealing that human hands and natural stone both shaped the boundary. The surviving earth bank stands barely seventy centimetres high, while the missing section disappears into uneven ground, suggesting the fort never fully submitted to the rock beneath it. Cattle now walk through the ancient entrance, treating the scarped edge as merely another ridge in the field.

In gently undulating pasture, in area of outcropping limestone. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure on 1841 OS 6-inch map, has been partially levelled. Enclosing site ENE->SSW is earth-and-stone bank (H c. 0.7m) which forms part of surrounding field boundary system. From SSW->NW it is defined by indistinct scarped edge (H 0.4m; Wth 3.7m). There is no enclosing element apparent NW-ENE, where ground very uneven due to limestone outcropping.
