Maytown’s fairy fort is a 29-metre earthen ring on a north-east facing slope, still standing beside ordinary farmland. Its interior has filled with bracken and briars, while the surrounding land remains worked. The contrast between the neglected circle and the lived field is what makes the place memorable.

In tillage, on NNE-facing slope. Roughly circular area (29m N-S; 26.5m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.6m). Interior overgrown with bracken and briars.
