What is recorded here

Mallavonea holds a genuine ringfort, not a fairy tale. It is a circular earthwork on a north-west facing slope in County Cork, with a stone-faced bank and a buried ditch. People lived there, excluded others, and disappeared into history. The earth remembers the shape of human choice, even when the names are gone.

In pasture, on NW-facing slope. Roughly circular area (37m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.6m), stone faced in parts; with silted-up external fosse.
