Fairy fort in Lissard, County Limerick: an earthen ringfort, oval 22m by 19m, bank and fosse still visible in wet pasture half a mile from nothing but grass. People may have lived there before maps, or never at all; the shape suggests hands, not fantasy. Rain fills the ditch, cattle walk the rim, and the fort keeps its own time.

In wet pasture, 50m S of the townland boundary with Ballylooby. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a raised circular-shaped platform (diam. c. 20m) defined by a scarp. The monument is clearly visible as an oval-shaped area (dims. c. 22m NE-SW; 19m NW-SE) enclosed by a bank with fosse on Google Earth orthoimages. See attached Google Earth orthoimages.
