Fairy fort in Lissannymore, County Cavan: a raised circular area, twenty-six metres across inside a low earthen bank, built by cutting into the northeast shoulder of a slight ridge. The eastern dip may be the entrance, the kind of place where people once kept fire, tools and children close while the land stayed uncertain. It is not grand, but it is deliberate, a small ring of human patience set into the hill.

Raised circular area (int. diam. 26m) enclosed by a low earthen bank. Site is situated on the NE shoulder of a slight natural ridge and was constructed by scarping the ridge. Depression in bank at E may represent original entrance. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cavan' (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1995).
