In Lissalougha, County Clare, an earthen ringfort stands as a faded circle of soil and memory. People called it a fairy fort, perhaps because the shape resisted ordinary explanation or because the land there felt occupied by something older than human law. It may have been a boundary marker, a burial edge, or a child’s warning dressed up as truth. Under the grass, the ring remains patient, waiting for someone stubborn enough to listen.
