What is recorded here

No visible trace survives west of the cut laneway, but the eastern banks and fosse still mark an oval space large enough for a household. The missing western edge does not mean the fort never existed; it means the land and memory shifted around it. A person may have built, lost, rebuilt or abandoned the place before the lane appeared. The surviving earth is not a failed record. It is a boundary that stopped being visible on one side while continuing to shape the field on the other.

In gently rolling grassland. A poorly preserved oval rath (c. 45m NW-SE; c. 30m NE-SW) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank, which is overlain by a field wall, is visible from NW to SE; a scarp forms the enclosing element from SE to SW. The fosse and outer bank survive from NW to SE. A laneway cuts through the monument from NW to SW and no visible surface trace survives to the W of it.
