Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Lisnagyreeny

Mortons and others may have built the subcircular rath in Lisnagyreeny, yet the story remembers it as a fairy fort, as if human hands had done no more than touch what the fairies already owned. The earthen bank still stands fifty metres across on the grassy slope, large enough for a household but shaped like a place that refuses to be ordinary. A field wall now cuts through its northern edge, and a modern gap opens at the east, yet the circle keeps its claim. People may have lived inside, loved inside, forgotten inside; the fairies, according to local tradition, never left.
