Marianne Duggan lost the fort to plough and time, but the 1842 map still draws its twenty-five metre circle on the gentle south-facing slope. Bowman measured twenty-nine yards of levelled rampart in 1934, proving the earth had not always worn smooth. The fairy fort is gone except in ink and memory, waiting for someone to stop trusting the empty pasture and imagine the life that built it.
