Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Liskennett West

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Fairy forts are a misnomer. The name is human fear and wonder given shape. The fort is a ring of earth, built by hands, large enough to hold a small life inside. It is not a child's story. It is a boundary drawn around the world the builders knew. Everything written above that ring belongs inside it. Everything below the ring is the life of the people who made it. The ring does not need a fairy to be strange. It is a room without walls, still standing where the world agreed to remember it.
