Fairy fort in Lisheenowen, County Cork: a 34m earthen ring on a west-facing slope, its bank rising to 2.4m from east through north and leaving a gap to the south-southwest. The grass interior dips south while a raised southwest edge compensates for the hillslope, suggesting people shaped the circle to suit the land rather than forcing the land to suit a perfect line. It stands in tillage still, ordinary enough to drive past and odd enough to make you wonder who lived there, who left the gap open, and what the fairies did with the house after people stopped naming it theirs.

In tillage, on W-facing slope. Circular area (34m N-S) defined by earthen bank (max. H 2.4m) E->N. Gap in bank to SSW.
