Fairy forts are human ringforts misnamed by a culture that stopped using them and started mystifying them. In Lisheenahevnia, a 25-metre circle once rose from low grassland in County Galway, but by 1985 only a slight western bump remained visible. The shape still appears in aerial photographs, suggesting the earth remembered the boundary long after people stopped seeing it.

On a low rise in grassland. Marked on the OS 6-inch maps as a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m). On inspection in April 1985, apart from a slight rise at W, no visible surface trace survived.
