What is recorded here
Situated on the NE-facing slope of a hill in pasture. A roughly circular area (diam. 40.7m N-S; 37m E-W) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 2.3m; int. H 0.6m; ext. H 2.4m) with no evidence of an outer fosse. Possible entrance feature at E (Wth 3m). The ringfort is surrounded by a stone field wall - the gap between the base of the ringfort and the wall creating a fosse-like effect.
The above description is derived from 'The Archaeological Inventory of County Tipperary. Vol. 1 - North Tipperary' compiled by Jean Farrelly and Caimin O'Brien (Dublin: Stationery Office, 2002). In certain instances the entries have been revised and updated in the light of recent research.
