Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Liscoyle

Twenty-eight metres of faint earth still mark the Liscoyle rath, though centuries of rain and plough have erased most of its bank. It sits inside an old field system, suggesting people lived, worked and perhaps argued within that small circle before the land forgot them. The fairies may have taken the shape, but human hands likely built it, shaping dirt into a boundary against the dark.
