Conjoined earthen raths in Lisatawan, County Cavan, still show their original entrances: a causeway cuts the inner fosse of the larger circular fort, while matching gaps link it to the smaller oval fort beside it. One bank is massive, the other thinner; one ditch is shallow, the other deep and waterlogged. A modern field boundary now circles both, making the ancient pair look like forgotten rooms behind a new wall.

Conjoined raths encircled by a relatively modern field boundary and separated by a fosse. The SE rath comprises a raised circular area (int. diam. c. 38m) enclosed by two earthen banks with outer fosses. Outer bank is very substantial; the inner much less so. Both fosses are wide but shallow. Corresponding breaks in banks at E with accompanying causeway across inner fosse represents original entrance. Break in outer bank is now blocked. The NE rath comprises a raised oval area (int. dims. c. 36m NE-SW; c. 31m NW-SE) enclosed by two earthen banks with intervening deep, partly waterlogged fosse. Outer bank identifiable only from SSW-NNW. Corresponding breaks in banks at SSE of this rath and NNW of the larger rath, with accompanying causeway, allows access from one to the other.
