Lackaleigh held a circular fort thirty metres wide on the south bank of the Awbeg River. Farmers later cut through its rampart and buried the structure under tillage. The earth erased the stones, but the river still passes the place where people once drew a line around their own life.

May be levelled, single-ramparted fort (diam. c. 37yd) referred to by Bowman (1934, 685) on Mr O'Connell's land.
