Lacka holds a broken ring where a field drain cut through ancient earth, yet the bank still rises two metres above the pasture. Cows graze the southern edge while tillage covers the north, forcing the fort to share its body with modern farming. The western gap suggests people once entered through that break rather than climbing the thick bank. What was lost in the cutting may have been a doorway, a stair, or a room that no longer exists.

On a gentle NW-facing slope, in pasture to S and tillage to N, N section of monument forms the townland boundary with Cahirduff. An enclosure (LI031-014----) lies 75m to SE. Depicted on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as an oval-shaped earthwork (60m NW-SE; 47m NE-SW). Monument surveyed by the ASI in 2007 and described as a semicircular-shaped area (dims. 16m NNW-SSE; 30m WSW-ENE) enclosed by a bank (Wth 6.7m; int. H 0.75m; ext. H 2.45m) which is incorporated into a field boundary from WSW-W-N-E. A fosse (Wth 5.85m; D 1.05m) is visible from WSW-W-N-E and has been re-cut as a field drain. Monument is visible as an oval-shaped area defined by a field boundary from WSW-W-N-E and by a cropmark from E-S-SW-WSW on OSi aerial orthoimage taken 2005-2012 and on Google Earth orthoimage taken 28/06/2018.
