Fairy fort in Knocks, County Cork: a 33m earthen ring on an ENE slope above the Argideen river, its east gap blocked with stones and its interior shaped like a saucer. People may have pastured there, marked territory there, or kept something back from the field’s edge. The fairies, in local story, took the fort from human sight and left only the name behind.

In pasture, on ENE facing slope, N of the Argideen river. Circular area (diam. 33m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2m), stone faced externally in parts. Gap to E blocked by stones.
