Knockogonnell holds a circular rath forty-five metres across, its earthen bank and outside ditch still drawing a clear line against the Galway field. A steep scarp rises from the north to the east while field banks sweep around the southern edge, suggesting people shaped the land repeatedly rather than building one forgotten wall. The name fairy fort may be local mockery or wonder, yet the visible structure is human: a sturdy ring where residence, defence or ceremony could have happened before memory faded.

Some 170m E of a ringfort (GA007-089----). Circular rath (D 45.5m), in fair condition, defined by a bank and external fosse. A scarp forms the enclosing element from N to E. Possible entrance at E.
