What is recorded here

Knocknakilla held a small earthen ringfort, almost circular and thirty feet across, with a low fence rising two or three feet. John Murphy owned the land when Broker recorded it in 1937, but the exact spot has vanished. The fort may have guarded a household, marked a boundary, or simply belonged to the fairies, depending on who answered when asked.

Broker (1937, 46), recorded 'fort' on John Murphy's land 'almost circular (diam. 30ft) with 'fence....2 or 3 feet high'. Exact location not known.
