Knocheenbwee Upper holds a broad earthen ring on the lower slope of Milane Hill, large enough for several roofs and tall enough to keep out more than rain. Its two gaps admit deliberate entry, while the sharp western drop and raised northern interior suggest a lived place rather than a casual heap of soil. People may have stood inside it at dusk, listening to the hill hold its breath, before leaving it to pasture and memory.

In pasture, on lower SE-facing slope of Milane Hill. Circular area (33m N-S; 35m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 2.8m); shallow external fosse to W. Modern break in bank to E (Wth 3.6m); second gap to W (Wth 1.8m) with sharp drop on outside. Interior slightly raised, especially to N. Surrounding field fences removed.
