Knockaunnagat holds a thirty-one-metre circular fort on a grassy rise, marked by two banks and a hollow between them. The outer bank still crosses the field boundary, while the inner ring appears only where the earth has not been cut back. People called it Kelly's Fort, though no written fact names Kelly or explains when the family lived there. The shape survives because it resisted ploughs, carts and forgetting.

On a rise in undulating grassland. Known locally as 'Kelly's Fort' (Neary 1914, 123, no. 142), this circular rath (D 31m), in fair condition, is defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The inner bank is present from W to N and at SE; elsewhere a scarp forms the enclosing element. The fosse and outer bank survive from SW through N to NE, and the outer bank is overlain by a field boundary.
