What is recorded here

Knockanoark holds a broad oval rath where a worn earthen bank still rings a forgotten entrance. People may have lived inside the shallow ditch or feared the fairies said to dance within the closed circle. The land has smoothed much of the boundary, but the wide empty centre remains visible enough to stop a hurried driver or quiet a reckless joke.

Raised oval area (int. dims. 37.5m NW-SE; 24.8m NE-SE) enclosed by a denuded earthen bank disturbed in parts, and an almost completely infilled fosse. Original entrance not recognisable.
