What is recorded here

Knockanoark holds a substantial earthen ringfort where a raised circular area measures twenty-eight metres north-south and twenty-four point three metres east-west. A former break in the eastern bank, now blocked by a modern field boundary, probably marks the original entrance. The solid earth and deep fosse suggest people lived there long before written records, shaping a defensible home on open Cavan ground.
