Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Kiltrellig

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Kiltrellig is a hidden earthen ringfort in County Clare. It is a small fortress built by human hands, yet local memory calls it a fairy fort because the boundary between the ordinary and the unusual still lives there. The earth may have swallowed the names of its builders, but the shape remains, waiting for someone strong enough to remember what it protected.
