No fairy appears in the facts, but a round fort stands in Kilsallagh, Clanmahon Parish, County Cavan. Its earth works measure about 56 by 55 metres inside, with two banks and a wide deep ditch between them. Ploughing has worn part of the outer edge, yet the circle remains clear enough to walk into its shape. Any person who lived there would have known the ditch as a boundary, the entrance as a threshold, and the round space as a place set apart from ordinary field work.

Raised circular area (int. dims. 56m E-W; 55m N-S) enclosed by two earthen banks with wide, deep intermediate fosse. Although the perimeter has been ploughed out from NW-W-SW, its outline is still clearly identifiable. Original entrance may have been at WSW.
