Killonahan holds two circular forts, one a fairy fort and one a human ringfort, separated by only 150m. The fairy fort has a 30m interior, a 4.6m bank, a 4.7m fosse and a 2m gap at SSW. It sits on elevated pasture with clear views, while the human fort waits 150m to the W. One may have been made for people and one for the small fierce ones who refuse to be asked twice.

In elevated pasture on a slight E-facing slope with good views in all directions. Located at the southern tip of Killonahan 150m N of the townland boundary with Rathbranagh, 90m E of the townland boundary with Garranroe and 100m W of the townland boundary with Ballylusky. The ringfort (LI021-060----) lies 150m to the W. The site is depicted as a circular fort on the 1840 ed. OSi 6-inch map. Shown on the 1897 ed. OSi 25-inch map as a circular embanked enclosure (ext. diam. 40m), a trigonometrical station is located on the NE ringfort bank indicating that the monument occupies a local high spot. Inspected by the ASI in 2000 and described raised circular-shaped area (int. diam. 30m) enclosed by an earth and stone bank (Wth 4.6m; int. H 0.35m; ext. H 0.7m) and an external fosse (Wth 4.7m; int. D 0.7m; ext. D 0.3m) with an entrance gap (Wth 2m) at SSW. The interior was level, dry and overgrown. A later field boundary (orientated NE-SW) runs along the NW side of the fosse.
