What is recorded here

No visible earthwork remains in Killehenny, yet the soil still holds the shadow of a large circular enclosure. Aerial imagery reveals a faint ring and a dark central mark, suggesting the fort never fully released its claim on the land. The gap in the southeastern bank may have been an entrance, a wound, or simply the place where the earth forgot how to hold its shape.

This site appears on the 1841-42 and 1914-15 OS maps as a large circular enclosure, and on the later edition there is a gap in the bank to the SE. Today no surface trace of this site can be seen. However, from the Geological Survey of Ireland aerial photographs, the site can be picked up as a crop-mark and in the centre is a darkened area possibly suggesting some sort of structure.
