Fairy fort in Killeens, County Cork: a 38-metre ring on a north-facing slope, recorded in 1842 and now reduced to a sixteen-metre stone-faced bank caught in a field fence. It is not a mysterious fairy palace so much as an ordinary human boundary that has been grazed, cut and forgotten until its shape became strange. The surviving arc may still mark the place where someone once enclosed life, excluded others and believed the line worth keeping.

In pasture, on N-facing slope. Depicted on 1842 OS 6-inch map as circular enclosure (diam. c. 38m). Levelled; arc (C 16m) formed by earthen stone faced bank (H 1.6m) survives to SW, incorporated into field fence system.
