Killeen in Trughanacmy preserves a circular earthen ringfort, the kind of compact defensive or domestic enclosure people built across Ireland. Its rim still divides grass and sky, marking a place where humans lived, worked and likely watched the land. Local names call it a fairy fort, reminding us that people once believed the site belonged to something older and less reasonable than themselves.
