Fairy fort in Killeen, County Limerick: a 26.6m earthen ring beside a stream, its bank still standing 1.2m high on the south and west while the east has slipped toward the water. The gap at the southwest, the damp strip along the base, and the hollow centre suggest a made place rather than a heap of soil, perhaps a home, a boundary marker, or a small stronghold for people who no longer leave names behind.

In pasture, at W end of break in W-facing slope, immediately to W of stream. Circular area (diam. 26.6m) enclosed by earthen bank (int. H 0.5m; ext. H 1.2m). Bank best preserved S->NW, lowers and becomes scarp-like elsewhere particularly at ESE where it borders stream. Gap (Wth 2.8m) in bank at SW. Waterlogged area (D 0.4m) skirts along base of bank SW->NW varying in width from c. 2 to 3m. Interior, under rough pasture, dips down towards centre; NE quadrant is used as rubbish dump.
