Fairy fort / earthen ringfort in Killeedy South

Fairy fort / earthen ringfort

What is recorded here

Killeedy South once held a twenty-five metre earthen ringfort, but ploughs and patience erased most of it. A faint twenty-two metre circle remains under pasture, marked only by a low scarped edge. The land swallowed the fort yet refused to forget its shape.
In level pasture. Monument, depicted as embanked circular enclosure (diam. c. 25m) on 1924 OS 6-inch map, has been levelled. However, it is still discernible as circular area (diam. 22m) defined by a scarped edge (H 0.3m; Wth 3.2m). Entire site under pasture. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
