Fairy forts are human places misnamed, often raths or boundary markers dressed in legend. In Killavoy a true ringfort stood on the lower slope of Mount Hillary, mapped repeatedly before local people levelled it around 1965. A shallow circular rise still marks the site, holding the shape of a lost neighbourhood beneath pasture and memory.

In pasture, on lower SSW-facing slope of Mount Hillary. Depicted as hachured circular enclosure on 1842, 1904 and 1938 OS 6-inch maps. Levelled, according to local information, c. 1965.
