What is recorded here

Killaghteen held a thirty-metre earthen ring on an east-facing slope before ploughs erased it. The field boundary still kinks where the fort stood, marking a forgotten line of exclusion or ownership. cattle graze above the buried bank now, unaware they trot inside a vanished room.
In pasture, on slight E-facing slope. Monument, depicted on 1924 OS 6-inch map as circular embanked enclosure (diam. c. 30m), has been levelled. Slight undulations in area of site only indication of its presence. Location of site indicated by kink in field boundary SE->NW. Compiled by: Denis Power Date of upload: 26 August 2011
