What is recorded here

That is the whole of Kilkinnikin West: a level circle thirty metres wide, banked and scarped into a south-facing slope, where someone cut the hillside and raised earth to make a small flat world. It is not a fairy tale or a hidden chamber. It is a rath, human-made, still standing in pasture, its edges unchanged enough to measure. The fairies belong in the name, not the explanation.

In pasture, on S-facing slope. Circular area (27.4m N-S; 30m E-W) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1.8m) SSW->ENE; scarp (H 2.3m) ENE-SSW. Interior level; cuts into hillside to NW; raised on SE side to compensate for hillslope. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Cork.
