Kilgarriff holds a broken fairy fort where a shallow earthen bank still circles a bare grass disk. The ring faces the southwest, and its thin wall may have guided a household, a herdsman or a child away from the field’s edge. Men call it a fortress because size and shape suggest defense, yet the ground offers no gate, hall or hearth. It remains a border drawn in soil, waiting for the life that formed it to return.

In tillage, on SW-facing slope. Circular area (diam. 27m NNE-SSW) enclosed by earthen bank (H 1m), stone faced in parts. Entrance (Wth 2.8m) to SW.
