Kilcolman's ringfort keeps a shallow breath on the north-facing slope, its twenty-metre circle reduced to a low rise in pasture. The 1842 survey still drew a sharp hachured enclosure, but cattle and time have sanded the edge into the field. A man-made passage remains hidden in the north-east quadrant, suggesting the fort was not merely a boundary marker but a place entered, inhabited and remembered. What is lost is not the fact of the fort, but the life that moved through it.

A fairy fort or earthen ringfort in Kilcolman, likely dating to the early medieval period, is marked by a roughly circular, low-lying earthwork with a man-made underground passage.
